Reddit user Vesoop posted the following in the Electrohouse subreddit on Tuesday: “So I was listening to the new Tiesto song, “Wasted” and I realized that the melody is the same as the one from “Young, Wild and Free” by Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg, but just sped up and the piano was replaced with a synth.”

Judge for yourself below, but Vesoop may be on to something: the melodies do sound very similar, right down to the subtle swing in the rhythm.

Tiesto’s new track is a bold foray into pop territory, which is sure to alienate some of his EDM fan base. The last thing he needs right now is an allegation of plagiarism.
