turbocharger machining and balancing who does machining of housings and balancing of chra around the lower mainland? i've looked and cant find anyone that does them in house without sending them out to the US |
Where have you looked? |
i found the following, west coast turbo - wants $400+ for balancing per turbo dynamic engineering - refused, commercial only ABB turbo - refused, commercial only BD diesel - rebuilds only starting at $3-400 ADP distributors - machining starting at $80, rebuilds starting at $500, balancing chra $75 kinetic - rebuilds starting at $350, machining starting at $80 these are quotes for mhi td04 turbos edit: list updated edit: list updated again, gonna grab a rebuild kit and do it myself. ill send to ADP for the machining and balancing. |
^ Looks like you knocked out every shop I was going to suggest. Sorry! Don't think I can help you there. Good luck! |
we keep it local |
and you charge "$3-400" chra balance at max costs $100 (and that's still ripping you off) |

still looking, probably going to end up sending it down to washington. anywhere else? |
where are the big shops around here sending theirs? |
contact Clay in this thread http://www.revscene.net/forums/t4-hot-side-t592662.html |
he is from kinetic right? edit:found out kinetic sends theirs next door to ADP, contacting them and will update when i get some quotes edit2:looks like im gonna go with ADP, good prices[other than rebuild] |
^ You may know this already (some people don't) but ADP is the parent company of Kinetic Motorsport. ADP does all their turbo work in-house and work on many different makes and models of turbos. :) |
so just an update, i did end up going with ADP. i regret it. my turbos never got done, even after 3 months. got the run around every week. took them back and ended up buying from the states. advice for others: go through a performance shop here like kinetic to send it to ADP cause they obviously dont care about individuals coming directly to them. just my experience. |
completely opposite of the experience i have with ADP. But i generally drop my turbos off, tell them what i need done, they call me and say its ready to roll, i pay the bill and walk out. no hassles, no issues, the work requested is done, on time and always to my satisfaction. no issues with ADP here, and i go right up to their front desk, no need to go through a middle-man. |
thats exactly what i did. maybe its just my luck this time around, cause ive only herd good things about them hence why i didnt bother shipping to states. i dont know...at least they didnt charge me anything. |
