captain Picard. this one is for u LONDON—Patrick Stewart has been upgraded from captain — to knight. The actor — famous for playing Capt. Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation — officially became Sir Patrick Stewart when he was knighted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. While Star Trek introduced him to a different group of fans, Stewart is also a widely respected stage actor. The 69-year-old actor discovered the theatre as a child, and said "my heroes were Sir Laurence Olivier, Sir John Gielgud, Sir Alec Guinness." Being "in that company is the grandest thing that has professionally happened to me." Stewart joined Britain's storied Royal Shakespeare Company in his 20s, and in 2008 was nominated for a Tony award for the leading role in Macbeth. http://media.thestar.topscms.com/ima...d3cc3e214.jpeg |

Wow for 69, he still looks pretty young. |
I still remember the first time I heard him say.... "Let's see what's out there, Engage." His theater acting far outweighs any Star Trek though. Bravo Sir Patrick, Bravo! Berz out. |
thanks :D Patrick Stewart is my all-time favourite actor, be it his role in Star Trek, as Xavier in X-Men, or his place in the RSC. He is such a versatile actor who puts his full effort into the role. Just remember guys: Frenchmen have english accents |
Wow, Revscene never ceases to amaze............... Shakespeare, theatre, the arts....... wow. Such refined people, yet so many............. nvm. Carry on. |
Sir Patrick has a good ring to it, finally joining in knighthood one of my other favorite screen and stage actors, Sir Ian. |

to be knighted at the age of 69 by the queen OOOOHHH SNAP |
I've never actually watched too much Star Trek - I'd always see him whenever I'd flip through, though. It was his performances on stage that were awesome. I remember him discussing various different ways of portraying Shakespeare's characters, with Shylock as one of his examples. Since then, I realized that reading the play was only a fraction of the experience. Congratz, Sir Patrick Stewart! |
he looked the same, maybe because he doesnt have much hair to show wisdom |
the professor has spoken |

I can hardly keep a straight face whenever I see him now. Damn that 'Full Of Win' picture! lol |
