Ventrilo Problem

When I use Ventrilo. I can't seem to hear anyone talk nor anyone can hear me talk through my mic. Shouldn't it work right away once installed? I just got a new PC. I'm using the board sound card. (Gigabyte H55M-UD2H) also running windows 7. I've tried changing settings on ventrilo. Updating drivers. Nothing.

does it work in any other program? like the default windows voice recorder?
you might have to go to sound settings and enable it or unmute it.
also ventrilo might have a default push-to-talk key that you should change.

make sure you set your devices in vent as well, it has to be set to your chosen speaker/mic within the program.

Make sure you run Ventrilo as administrator. Sometimes that was the problem for me.

I've done that. It doesn't seem to work.

I haven't tried the windows voiced recorder. I'll give that a try. I changed my push-to-talk key to what I usually use.

+1.

That's what I meant. You can be logged in as the administrator, but most of the time, you wont be running a program as admin. Right click then run as administrator.

yea just run as admin
