Claybar help What inexpensive detailer do you guys use when you claybar a car? I ran out of meguiars detailing spray and I find purchasing a bottle of that is not worth it. |
Optimum No Rinse in claybar dilution. I think it's something like 4:1 for clay lube and then 8:1 for QD usage? |
soapy water works well |
When you say soapy water what products specifically because I know some household products maybe too abrasive for car paint. |
^ ^ ^ Carwash soap. |
or a small constant stream of water works too |
I would NOT use a constant stream of water, the whole idea of the meguire's detailing spray is that it has the right amount of lube in it, that it is neither defeating the purpose of the clay nor is it too abrasive. Straight water has no lubrication in it. You want the clay to glide on the paint, not be overly abrasive against it. The meguire's is a good choice. But if need be, use a proper dilution of car wash soap, or to be safe, less soap than you think you would need. |
just use the car wash soap, obviously take the car wash soap before you wash it and put it into a spray bottle. |
Thanks for the suggestions. I will probably use car wash soap and dilute it with water. You guys know how much water to car wash soap? |
Spray wax work well, too. |
i use car wash soap as well. it works fine for me |
