white paint yellowing my car is a white 2006 subaru, and the paint is really yellowing when compared to other white subarus of the same or earlier year. would a good detailing get rid of the yellowing? i believe it's the clear coat that is yellowing and not the paint? |
do you wax your car? |
yes but havnt done it in a long time. |
I havent seen any cars your age with clear coat yellowing. If polishing it won't solve the problem, it may be a warranty issue. |
i'll try and take a clear pic showing what im talking about tomorrow. |
only 4 years old, should be fairly new |
That is really strange. Sounds like a warranty issue for sure :) Was the car ever resprayed? You the origional owner still? |
try use Duragloss 501 to see if it helps. my white yaris is the same case as yours and DG501 helps bring out the white. |
update took some pics the best i can, it doesnt show the difference that well, but u can still see it. this is a pic of the trunk and bumper http://img816.imageshack.us/img816/5637/img0717.jpg close up http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/3856/img0716.jpg and the following is the rear quarter panel where it meets up with the trunk http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/802/img0721.jpg close up http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/4651/img0722.jpg more http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/8121/img0719.jpg more http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/798/img0718.jpg not sure how well u can see the difference, but it's pretty obvious when u see it in person. the trunk and wing is from a 2004 which u can see has a "cool" white shade, while the body from 2006, has a "yellowish" white to it. |
