The only way he got busted was with an undercover cop though, which means he ran a pretty tight ship. Guy should've quit while he was ahead.

I also thought the VINs in ECUs are burned in at the factory (ie even a dealer can't remove it)?

wow.. 15 years... making over 1 million per year.. damn...

he should have opened a bank accounts all over the world and deposit like 75% of the money.

tacobell 06-11-2010 04:00 PM

this guy is not a dummy, otherwise he won't be able to devise such a plan. Of course this guy hid all his money, you think he's depositing all this money into his personal bank account, come on ppl, you gotta give him more credit than that

wow also series, but I love the 1st video where they pull out a iBook and it's touchscreen :p

Raid3n 06-11-2010 07:11 PM

any money he would have had in personal accounts would have been taken from him by the rcmp as proceeds of crime, so of course it would have been in accounts in Switzerland and the Cayman Islands, lol

I always wondered, if you get busted for a crime such as this one and the police seize your money. Will they audit your immediate family too? Like what if he just gave all his cash to a family member to hold on to.

jtanner_ 06-11-2010 08:52 PM

Just spent the last while watching it... pretty good watch... what a crazy scheme

i think it all depends on how serious it is
this case they never really find out how serious it was so i doubt they can do it - no hard evidence.

twitchyzero 06-11-2010 09:19 PM
