Like I said, kindly reject the request. If he continues to pester, let him know that you won't be afraid to press harassment charges. It is the buyer's responsibility to have things checked out, and because of his incoherence he lucked out.

Your quote from the email did not mention the mention or shape of the clutch, only that it is still doing it's job perfectly fine.
It's up the the buyer to check out what he's buying.
Also, did you get him to sign bill of sale/waiver form?
It should include something along the lines of "The vehicle is sold "As-Is" and the Seller shall not be liable for any defects, patent, latent or otherwise."
Lesson learned I guess?
