Food Buddha

Yes I know it's not the entertainment nor the travel section but this seemed like the most appropriate spot for this.

Anyone watch this show yet?

A Chicago chef travels around the States (so far) to find inspiration for dishes at his restaurant. In each episode, he visits 2 or 3 restaurants with a local and orders everything on the menu to get the true "flavour" of the restaurant and the chef.

Watching this show makes me both hungry, craving good food and totally stuffed at the same time.

He shares with neighboring tables. I'm actually pretty surprised how much him and the fireman(?) polished off at the BBQ pork place.

Yeah I caught the show last night to. So he's been to New Orleans and San Francisco. The baked dungeness crab looked real good.

Interesting show. I guess it's a way of bringing out the chef in both good and bad ways.

mako 06-16-2010 09:07 PM

so he jacks ideas from other restaurants to use at his own

fliptuner 06-16-2010 09:12 PM

No, his dishes are quite different from the originals.

mako 06-16-2010 09:14 PM

but he gets 'inspiration' by trying all the dishes and asking the chef how to make certain ones

he does look like buddha though

This looks like a real interesting show, I love the looks on the cooks face when the server says everything

When you steal from one person, it is called plagiarism.

When you steal from multiple people, it is called research.
