I think the Central division has stronger opponents though. Imagine facing Detroit 6 times a year. D: Its funny cause it was only a couple of years ago Central was probably one of the weakest divisions with only Detroit being the sure thing.

you REALLY think they'll keep that up? Don't you remember 2 years ago they were the best team in the league for the entire 2nd half, barely made the playoffs, then got raped by the nucks in the first round? Then last year they took a huge dump and were horrible? They may be looking good now but they're a young team and theres no way they stay anywhere near that pace all year.

They can't score worth a shit either (23rd in goals for) and theres only so many games Halak can steal. Eventually inability to put the puck in the net will catch up with you.

I know the feeling.... I so happy that the team's make-up has changed such that we have a lot of people capable of scoring.

punkwax 11-09-2010 12:25 AM

Man, watching the Wings game right now, It's been a long time since I've seen Bert play like this. Didn't really notice him on Saturday for some reason, but man is he flying right now. Great to see.

SkinnyPupp 11-09-2010 02:05 AM

Yeah I could barely believe my eyes, when I saw Bertuzzi actually moving his legs instead of just coasting back and forth between the blue lines. He looks leaner too.

Greenstoner 11-09-2010 07:28 AM

gonna rush to starlight to watch the game today

Ballard is a healthy scratch tonighit, just heard this on the radio
he's really played his way OFF the line up
So with Ballard out, Hamhuis is IN

I'm thinking it's more like alberts stays in and hammer was going to be back regardless

Is it just me or does it seem like alberts gets like #2 dman minutes lol, always seems to be on the ice

kinda sad that a 4mill+ dman is scratched over other lower paid dmen.

but can't blame av, all of our dmen are performing really well.

Well, from what I read on the Canucks forum, it may be that Ballard isn't actually 100% healthy yet, but came back to the lineup early because we were depleted... but now that Hamhuis is back, he can rest up a bit to get back to being 100% healthy before being inserted back into the lineup... don't know if that's true or not though.

DanHibiki 11-09-2010 11:17 AM

Ballard needs to put up points already. He's supposed to be an offensive dman

Great source buddy..Canucks forum lol...He's scratched because he's been playing like shit the last few games. Simple as that, but this should motivate him.

# More Ballard: "I've played games (before Van) where I should have been a scratch. But you don't have that luxury on a good team." 15 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone

# Ballard on first career scratch: "I need to play better and there are no (injury) excuses. We're into November, I should be fine." 19 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone

# AV on Rome over Ballard: "This game is about guys who are playing the best and other guys are playing better than him (Ballard)." 23 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone

# Ballard, Parent doing extra work post practice. Hamhuis back in with Rome. Ballard out. Start the roster debate. 35 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone

RiceIntegraRS 11-09-2010 11:42 AM

I was never completely sold on ballard. He's done basically nothing to deserve that 4million dollar paycheque he's getting. Alberts has been playing sooo well this season its quite surprising given that he played like shit in the playoffs last year.
