PBM coilovers

Any of you guys use this? Looks decent, heard good things about it. Just about $1100 shipped.

I need a new set and my budget is around $1200. Any recommendations? :D

PBM's known for going real low. Stiff spring rates (10k front / 8k rear) but people say its not that bad. I'm looking to get a set too. Stance gr+ are really good too, kind of hard to find them for 1200 shipped.

I don't know anything about PBM, but I do know that Form & Function Type II coils go for $900 shipped for G35 and 350z, and they are well reviewed especially among the slammed guys, spring rates are 10k front and 8k rear.

you can also look into BC racing, well reviewed among everyone on the VQ boards, best bang for the buck and they go for around 1 grand shipped. But the best thing about them is if one strut blows they will send you a new one for only $100 !! don't know of any coilover manufacturer that does that.
I know my buddy is running Stances right now and the two rears blew, so he's back on OEM struts in the rear, because buying just two new stance struts is almost as much as all 4.

Stance is great but they're pretty expensive as my car's a daily.

You think there's Form & Function coilovers for my car? As for BC racing, that sounds promising.

edit: nvm, form & function coils go for $1200 + tax + s & h

satek 06-16-2010 01:45 PM

PBM also sells replacement struts for $100 and I heard BC Racing coilovers are made in the same factory as Megan coilovers. Could be wrong.

^ oh yea a lot of those japanese/asian brand name coilovers are made in the same factories, if not all of them.
BC racing though has a much better reputation and twice the reviews that Megan does, at least on the VQ forums.

I had tein basics before, my new coilovers I went balls out with AST, a european manufacturer that specializes in race suspensions. The only asian made factory coilovers I would consider are some of the higher end ones like Cusco and HKS.

HIV like I said Function & Form Type II go for $900 shipped on the VQ forums, so you need to find a better vendor, because $1200 is a ridiculous price.
Here's a link to the store that sells them for a good price, none of the local shops can touch this price otherwise I would tell you to go get it from them

I wouldn't run PBM's on a daily.. the spring rates on my old Cusco's were 9kg/7kg and I found those way too stiff for everyday driving. I can only imagine how much worse 10/8 would be.

Best for daily is 8kg/6kg.

I have HKS hipermax D's up front just that my rear left shock rod broke. I must have hit a pothole without knowing. Idk if there's any place out there that actuallly rebuilds shocks.

what site was that for $900 shipped? The one I checked earlier was just under $1200.

K, I just checked out the site.

Top 3 not in any order within my price range.

Tein Basic
Function & Form Type 2
Apex'i N1 Damper ExV

I'm leaning more towards the Apex'i

jing 06-17-2010 09:41 AM

Apexi's are made in the same factory as Megan's

satek 06-17-2010 10:15 AM

Megan makes everything lol

!Yaminashi 06-17-2010 11:22 AM

Actually BC Racing manufactures the megans

koukimonst3r 06-17-2010 04:35 PM

OMG everything's MEGAN'S now
