that's the thing, hon is good because of that. not because of the mechanics/gameplay (yes they are different in various ways)

HON is 100x better then LOL. I played maybe 3000 games of HON in the beta, have played a few hundred of LOL. LOL is free, sure that's great, but the servers are absolute shit and lag in a game where timing matters = fail

The mechanics and gameplay are very similar. The details of graphics and the resolution you can play at are a lot better instead of getting stuck at 1280x1024 with heroes looking way too big on big(ger) screen monitors.

maybe you should read and learn to deduce things people say then.

the thing that made dota good was that there were known consequences to the things you did and the movements you made. i also like how all the skills are clear (graphics wise) and you have full control in huge 5v5 battles. to me, i feel that after a simple 3v3 in hon, you start to lose control over your character and your autoattacks and use on cool down of skills really makes you faceroll the opponent without a second thought. i don't even want to start on -em games.

anyhow, i do think hon sounds great on paper and it does perform in it's aesthetics and game design (rankings, leavers etc.) but there's something different about it that makes it less viable at high skill levels. i mean we used to have complexity play in dota tournaments.

either way, i'm sure this game will pick up speed since dota is pretty much going to get less and less attention from ice frog and hon will be it.

LoL and HoN both have their qualities. atm i'm just playing LoL instead, since more friends play that. For those who are interested in joining an LoL tourney, VSGAMING will be hosting a tourney on sept25 i think.

I play LoL.
I used to play dota beforen i moved to korea. It was hard to find games since dota was dominated by dedicated servers located in the US and high ping is auto kick.

So my friend plays LoL here and he recommended it so I started to play. I remember hating it. It could not be compared to Dota in anyway. IMO it required less skill. Even when I go ganking, the excitement could not be on par with a dota. Nor the variables for a fight was low since LoL barely has any castable items. Even the layout of the forest adds so much 'fun' factor for dota vs lol.
Dota has so many game modes.

I came here to write about how if you keep on playing you get used to it but while writing this i realised how much i miss dota and how much LoL sucks.

I also hate how you have to buy champions in LoL in order to play them. If you have a lot of champions along with full rune builds, it will give an advantage which is a pretty shitty for a Dota type game where everyone should start with a fair chance of growing.

If anything, i like the automatic match opponent which was quite useful when you are a noob and it wont place you in a game with more experienced players (in dota if you are a noob = votekick lol) but when you get to a higher level sometimes you get matched with a noob on your team and you wont know it until the game started and game becomes ruined right from the start.
