Porsche doesn't want to play, but hyundai does! http://jalopnik.com/5567323/hyundai-...s-mini-to-race Quote:

Hyundai's getting cooler in my books. I applaud them. They better be able to back that up. |
pretty cool imo. hyundai's got balls to challenge mini.. most likely a marketing stunt. never know, it'd might work, and would help with sales of genesis coupe... ;D |
the genesis is a great car :) |
cant wait for minis reply :D |
in before someone says "It's still a HYUNDAI. Hyundais are GAY" jokes aside, pretty cool to see the manufacturers poke at each other. haha this always makes things interesting. i wonder if mini will give them a call. lol |
haha awesome... i soo want to watch this |
I actually want hyundai to win. |
gotta give props to hyundai's marketing....now they are like mini on the mini vs porsche situation.... mini is just like porsche now....lose-lose situation imo lol |
now that would be so bad if a mini spanked their top of the line sports car |
hmm hyundai=good now... why the fuck couldn't this have happened 6 years ago. |
This is someone's comment from the link "I see no reason Mini would even want to deny. They still make Porsche look like a wuss, and get a race. The Genesis will be good in the straightaways, but be bad at corners since it's RWD, but the Mini will be great in the corners since it's FWD. It could provide for some awesome racing action" |

That looks more like an autox course than the real Road Atlanta track. Upon looking at the map of Road Atlanta, this area appears to be the skidpad area for the track (the real track is at the top and bottom of this picture (in the dark grey) |
Funny how in the video the president of porsche sent, when it says "our idea of trendy", it shows the progression of the design of the front ends of the the cars...and strangely leaves out the 996 front end...hmmm, wonder why...maybe cuz it looks like ASS compared to the 997. |
So I guess Mini just isn't going to respond to Hyundai? |
genesis is a great car. love mine |
the mini is very close in performance to the coupe. on a tiny course like the one shown, the mini should win, but if we have millen driving, we'll do alright. I hope it goes down, but I won't say the coupe will win for sure. I think it would do better on the full course though, and if nothiong else, look a lot better going around the course. |
if you can throw down a 3.8 Coupe it should do well with the LSD option... |
^sorry for going slightly off topic but i heard at one point your picking up a gen coupe..? |
I don't think I've ever been this pissed as Robin Mortimer would likely roll over in his grave. All I can say is a 1 year warrenty on the clutch is simply greed to start. Competition is closing in on a week to week basis. Time to take a sabbatical. Posted via RS Mobile |
