Just looking for advise what should be done to a brand new car? I just want to make sure to start off right.

I'd probably suggest a claybar, maybe a light polish if needed, and a few coats of sealant/wax.

I'd maybe wait a few weeks after you take possession of the car before doing any polishing on it though in case they had repainted some panels that you might not have known about.

make sure you break it in properly

A new car shouldn't need anything more than a clay and wax or sealant but if there are some dealer installed swirls, a glaze like CG Wet Mirror will help hide them until you decide to polish it.
