can ANYONE diagnosis this noise? [ Video ]

Ok so for the past 3 months or so, there has been an ANNOYING ASS ****ING SQUEAK whenever i turn the wheel, ive isolated it to the right side. Here are the symptoms:

-When cold and i turn the wheel it wont squeak until ive made a few turns on my drive
- Squeaks with car on or off
- Squeaks when right front end is pushed down

I have LUBED EVERY GODDAMN THING that i could see behind the wheel.

every shop ive been to has no idea, Honda will be a last resort. SO plz help me out, its embarrassing to have ur car squeak when turning... and annoying as ****.
Here is the video, there r two parts one is me turning the wheel and another pushing down both ends of the car.

Thanks in advance.

No idea what that sound might be (assuming you've tried the obvious like you said you have), but yeah that would be kinda embarrassing. Best of luck fixing it.

possibly steering component. wouldn't be able to say without really checking it out.
try jacking up the front end up the car, grab the tire at 9 and 3 o'clock, and wiggle it, see if there's free play. repeat at 12 and 6 position.

rack and pinion..?

Qmx323 06-21-2010 11:05 PM

^+1

check ur PS fluid if its low for signs of leakage, also check the steering rack boots (not CV boots)

vanLUDERCity 06-21-2010 11:19 PM

hmm... boots are fine, ps fluid is fine, and as for rack and pinion wouldnt it make a noise no matter what end of the car a pushed down on? Im thinking maybe its the strut? or something around that area

lexluthor09 06-21-2010 11:43 PM

Didn't you post this problem a while ago?

Did you check the ball joints like I described? They get dry (regardless if the boot is intact) I've had this happen on my accord changed the lower ball joint and it was all good. same symptoms. exact same sound.

matter of fact if you don't do anything now, it'll just get louder

If you want just poke a hole into the boot small enough to spray lube into, and then you'll notice the squeak disappear. if you need help pm me.

slow-fastback 06-22-2010 02:22 AM

sounds like upper ball joints to me lol

skyxx 06-22-2010 03:10 AM

Your hamster is dying.

some_punk 06-22-2010 08:38 AM

Either ball joints as said above or the outer tie rod end.

vanLUDERCity 06-22-2010 09:45 AM

Little update, i took a look around my ball joints and found this...

http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/7683/pic0010.jpg

I injected some lube into the hole using a needle, but i doubt the noise will go away, the tear is big, but ive talked to some mechanics and they tell me, as long as there is no play in the joint, that i shouldnt worry about driving, i wanna get this fixed asap, as im going to osoyoos in about 2 weeks and don't wanna drive 5 hours with this... anyone know any shops?

Am I right to assume this is the cause of the noise?

lexluthor09 06-22-2010 02:23 PM

Yes it is the cause of the noise.
