Cleaning exhaust tips

So my tips are stained pretty bad with carbon.

I know you can use steel wool + some cleaner, but what type of steel wool do i use?

Where do I get it, and what cleaning agent do i use?

TIA !

Steel wool comes in 4 grades from 0 - 0000, 0000 being the finest. You can get it at Canadian Tire. Be careful and test a spot on the bottom of the tip first as even 0000 will put light scratches in your tips. Start with a light metal polish like Optimum or DG and if that doesn't work, try something stronger like Autosol. I would try your polish with an old MF first and use the steel wool as a last resort.

agreed! the metal polishes work pretty well and if the tips are bad, I would tray multiple applications before attempting using steel wool
