just a quick simple question about printing photos so i found a few images online, unfortunately they are unavailable in high res anywhere. they're quite small 550 x 720 pixels. so now, how big can i print these without them getting all super ugly? can I even print 4 x 6? they're not real life pictures so they're not super detailed, hand drawn pictures so slight pixelization is okay |
At 300dpi (seems to be the minimum standard for photo that most ppl are comfortable with), you need at least 1200x1800 to be clear in 4x6 Yours can make do at 130dpi... it won't be the nicest thing to look at up close, but it shouldn't be too bad IMO if you keep certain distance. I have had big prints done for my buddy's shop at 150DPI and it wasn't bad looking at around 5ft away |
if 4x6 fails, try wallet size |
So, you're printing your porn now...? :D :jizz: |

In PS, go into Image>Image Size>Bicubic Smoother and enlarge the image to about 115% of what you want, sharpen the image a little with Unsharp Mask, and then reduce the size using Bicubic Sharper to what you want the image to be. Of course, you won't get very good large enlargements with such a small image size, but you should be able to triple the image size with adequate results. |
