pacific riding school or private lessons?

ok so browsing through cl and found this guy

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...812634106.html

$400 vs $800

i have never rode a sport bike before

Gh0stRider 07-05-2010 04:24 AM

I would still recommend PRS.
They provide the bike and gear. You know they are successful and are accredited.

With that guy, you need to have a bike and gear already. You dont know what his background is like, if other people recommend him or not.

TheSalesman 07-05-2010 08:44 AM

PRS for sure...
They are really good.

bcrdukes 07-05-2010 11:48 AM

PRS - hands down.

For $800, you get an entire's week worth of training (37.5 hours + 1 full day's ride time) and the use of everything (minus boots.) $400 for about 4 or 5 hours of instruction from some Joe Blow off the street? You won't learn squat. :p

alex.w *// 07-05-2010 03:18 PM

how about this course

http://www.proride.net/training_info.htm

its really close to my house, but its going to be $840 because of the god damn hst

and they will provide mst on site

Honyoung 07-05-2010 03:50 PM

PRS you wont regret it

bcrdukes 07-05-2010 05:36 PM

Several people have taken Pro Ride. They're a good school as well but I toughed it out (as with many other people who have posted) and went to PRS in Surrey. Much better school IMO.

considering you have no prior experience with bikes, PRS is the way to go.

I took the course a few months back and it is EXCELLENT!
they teach you the theory for two days, then 3 days of parking lot. you also get to use their bikes for your road test the first time. if you bomb the road test, then it is 50bux to rent it from them.

like someone has already said, they provide all the gear and the training is just excellent. they cover all aspects of riding, and you even go out for 2 class road rides after you are done your parking lot training.

+1 for PRS, there is a reason why they are so reputable. sure, it may be a little farther out, but it is completely worth it and you'll make friends/riding buddies. remember that it's your life on the line, don't take the risk with a stranger.

racerman88 07-05-2010 09:20 PM

PRS for sure

impactX 07-05-2010 11:25 PM

PRS, I didn't even have a second thought (about going elsewhere) when I decided to take the course there.

eurochevy 07-06-2010 12:01 AM

PRS ftw

Glaedr 07-06-2010 06:01 PM

Gh0stRider 07-06-2010 06:17 PM

lol. Thats funny, he's my brothers friend. Definitely a very good rider and a great guy but I don't know his training background. I would still leave it to the pro's
