| Stereo tuning
Sorry for the NOOB question. OEM stereos have only bass, treble and fader adjustments. Any recommendations for inexpensive upgrades to allow more tunability of stereo?
TIA!

TIA! | Get a new head unit. Pioneers come with an auto calibration system that comes with a mic.

I agree though, a head unit is a great start. It all depends on how much you want to spend and how high you want to set your expectations.

Thanks for the feedback.
I would like to retain the stock head unit due to security and esthetic reasons. Any other suggestions?

Guess you kinda gotta tell us what car your driving first to see what the stock stereo consists of. What exactly are you wanting to tune?
Berz out.

You can easily integrate your stock radio/deck to work with aftermarket amps, speakers and subs. The interface is quite important though. Audiocontrol makes some really nice OEM to aftermarket units. Keep in mind though, its beneficial to upgrade your speakers and amplfier(s) for best results. Audiocontrol's DQL8 has a great equalizer (30 band left and right), a 3-way 24 db crossover, built-in line driver and a ton of other great features. I ran a very similar unit called the DQXS and it was pretty damn sweet.

Thanks Mike. I will look into Audiocontrol products. | My '05 TSX sounds pretty sweet with no DSP - just an aftermarket deck that does a lot! Quote:

What do you define as inexpensive?
Its hard to do much to a factory sound system in terms of retaining stock and tuning on what most people consider "inexpensive".
