Asus Netbooks the best?

Do many people still consider the Asus netbooks the best? I'm looking to spend about $300-$400.

I was considering ASUS Eee PC 1001P Intel Atom N450 1GB 160GB
http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=50...nufacture=ASUS

I also was looking into theToshiba N455. Toshiba laptops are supposed to be good, but not sure about netbooks
http://www.bestbuy.ca/EN-CA/product/id/10147246.aspx

I'm just looking to use the netbook for internet use, watching a movie while on the plane uploading pictures, and occassional MS Office.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

asus have good warranties in general.

1 year accidental warranty which other manufacturers do not have

dell, lenevo, and asus is rated highest.
i would choose dell, asus, lenevo, and sony if i was to buy a laptop fro its brand.

if u can find an msi wind u123 or higher model for under $300, get it!

i was lucky enough to buy my wind with a 9 cell battery/windows 7 starter for $250 at FS back in jan when they went on sale..

i love it, plus its easy to upgrade the ram

asus netbooks are known for good battery life, fit & finish and warranties since they've been making em the longest

i wouldn't say it's the best bang for the buck performance wise though.

and the comment abot ram...i'd say they are all really easy to upgrade.

How much does it typically cost to upgrade the RAM on a netbook to 2GB?

I thought that too until I had to upgrade my buddy's Acer Aspire One. You practically have to take the whole thing apart just to upgrade the RAM.

My Lenovo was much easier. Unscrew the panel that covers the slot, plug it in and you're good to go. I'd probably do a bit of Google searching to see how easy it is for an Asus if you're considering upgrading the RAM.

yeap on my Eee1000 it's just a panel and the ram slot is the first thing you see.

Look up ASUS 1201N, it's a great netbook...Very decent duo core processor and NVIDIA ION graphics card...I've got one and have been really happy about it.. I might be selling it soon to buy a full out laptop..msg me if you are interested!

I had an Acer Aspire ONE a few years ago when it 1st came out and it was ok, never had any problems. Now I have a Samsung which I bought last year, no problems at all too, so you don't have to really buy Asus.
