How to remove paint stains from brass mailboxes Not the outdoor ones, but ones that are in a store and rented out to customers. There are white paint stains on them, and I've tried Brasso, but it doesn't seem to work. Will paint thinner be ok or will that ruin the brass? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance |
Where I work we occasionally get graffiti on our painted cinder block walls. We use "graffiti remover" from the Home Depot. It is in an aerosol can and dissolves the graffiti (usually permanent marker tho) |
I'll give it a shot! Thanks! Any other ideas if it doesn't work? |
Try gasoline first. |

If that doesn't work, you can get a bit more aggressive by using acetone. May I ask why you rent out mail boxes? And brass ones to boot? |
I'm opening a business out in Langley and bought used mailboxes off craigslist and they just needed some cleaning. |
How about stuff like Goo Gone, or paint thinner? Even if it tarnishes the brass, just go over it with Brasso afterwards. Done. |
