You know if you are going to make comments about movies, maybe you should read "man out of time" miniseries 1-5.

You should be able to get it at comic land in a collected edition or off amazon for 11 dollars.

or brubakers relaunched "Captain America"

That pretty much make captain america doubt his patriotism to his country.

best marvel movie to date, now this is how its suppose to be done

but really, anyone who cant fly/jump really high are pretty much useless (cap, widow, hawkeye), the second movie will be no better if they going up against thanos

seriously, replacing widow and hawkeye with spiderman and wolverine would make one hell of a movie, but getting their movie rights will be impossible

I couldn't see Cobie Smulders as anything but Robin. When she was talking, all I could think of was she once fell asleep eating ribs.

TBH, I don't think I have ever picked up a Marvel comic before, so yes, I'm in position to be firing off any opinions.

To be exact, I guess it was Chris Evan's acting and the script that I felt was off.

Spoiler!

I really enjoyed Captain America: The First Avengers and Evans performance. In my mind, he was the perfect super hero, patriotic, humble, willing to make sacrifice. So I kind of had a high expectation of him in the Avengers, hoping he make a big impact in bringing all 4 of them together.

That's just how I felt though. Maybe those who have actually read the comics may think otherwise.

It was a great action movie, I just it wasn't omgwtf it's the best movie ever.

Actually I would love to pick up reading Marvel comics, but there's just too many, and I don't know of too many places that actuall sell comics anymore.

I decided to jump back in to comics about 3 years ago and I wanted to start with comics published in the 2000's since the art work is MUCH nicer. But every point I start at I wouldn't know what's going on, why this person is a good guy now and why this person is dating that person now instead, etc etc. So i thought "ok I'll back a bit to read what happened so I won't be as lost when I read this comic". But then I it would happen again to the comic I have gone back on...and again and again....next thing you know I'm reading the X-Men comics from the 1980's lol.

Civil War was the first one I read when I got back to comics and DAMN it was awesome. I suggest you read that.

I also decided to only read the big crossover events or big storylines in the Marvel universe.

Here's a link that will help:

Publication history of Marvel comics crossover events - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Right now I'm on maximum carnage

Personally, I'd suggest starting with any Marvel series written by J. Michael Straczynski (yes, the guy who created Babylon 5). He started with Marvel writing for Amazing Spider Man #30 and knocked it out of the park (I always loved Spidey's wacky sense of humor, and JMS nailed it), then moved on to the Supreme Power series (kinda Superman-as-Captain-America concept, very cool), then did several issues for Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, and Thor. Oh yeah, and he did a number of issues in the Civil War crossovers.
J. Michael Straczynski - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He was also a co-writer for (and had a cameo in) the Thor movie.

His ASM run is available as a set of hardcover publications, five to seven individual issues in each - great way to get started in it. Most comic shops should be able to order them for you, if they don't stock them.

*Disclaimer: I'm a huge B5 fan, and by extension, a fan of JMS and most of his work.

Remender did a very good job with venom. Although circle of four was pretty flat.

I don't think JMS is a very good starting point, for the marvel universe. I find older comics hard to read due to the art style and the print. His work is awesome though.

If you want something cheap and affordable, I suggest picking up bendis/Maleev's moon knight 1-8 from Amazon. I think you can find it for 15 dollars there. It's a great great piece of work. Probably my favourite comic of 2012.

These are some pretty awesome marvel titles right now.

Personally I love Liu's x-23, but i don't think many would like it.

For the comic geeks, what is your take on the Ultimate universe comics as opposed to the standard universe?

I saw the film again, this time in DBOX, it wasn't worth the extra admission, tho I must say the final scene was quite fitting for the thing

HAHAAH same HERE!!!

One thing I can't get over is the lack of Russian accent that Widow is suppose to have.

But I guess it's better to have Scarlet talk normally than attempting a back Russian accept.

This movie is AWESOME! Over the top, the way it should be.
