It's official, Sony releases world's first Intercheangle lens system on HD camcorder. While everyone was enjoying their HD DSLR, Sony decided to release the world's First HD camcorder with an Interchangeable lens system. Sony did show a small teaser of it at NAB but there was no word as to when it would be released or what it looked like. This camcorder is price very competitively and I'm definitely interested in retiring my old HDR-HC1 for one of these bad boys. The price of this camera is the same price as what I paid for the HDR-HC1 but with so much more features to play with (larger sensor, awesome DOP, fantastic Audio, etc etc). I was seriously considering the Canon 7D but not anymore!!! http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget....y-nex-vg10.jpg Quote:

So much for Panasonic's $100,000 4/3 sensor camera... I can't see too many pros buying that anymore. |
^ 100K???? I thought it was more in the range of 6-7K (Rumours) Anyway, I read that the E-mount lens(18-200mm) that comes with the camcorder cost $800 alone. To me, this sounds like a bargain for what you get! I'm sure sony will make a "prosumer" version of this exact camcorder like they do with many of their other camcorders. |
I wonder if they will come out with internal hard drive models. |
Uber sexy too! |
One thing with Sony "Consumer" camcorders is that they don't have the option to record in 1080p mode and to add to that this is the first consumer camcorder to have interchangeable lens. There have been a few prosumer camcorders that have interchangeable lens (HDR-FX7). |
IT'S ALL ABOUT RED ONE!!!!!11!!!!!!111!!! :troll: |

Only thing this i would like to see is dual media slots because at 24Mbps it will eat up cards like nothing. I also here is does 1080i at 60 frames a second and that can be turned into 1080P at 30 frames a second by software. |
^ The 60i that everyone is complaining about is really nothing. People all want 24p/30p images. The camera technically records in a PsF format, meaning a progressive image saved in an interlaced container. When you tell a Non-linear software to interlope it to progressive, it can be done without degrading the video quality(artifacts). Speaking of bit rates, 24mpbs isn't that bad for HD video. It's technically pretty low as the 5D MKII/7D/1DMKIV records at 50mbps. Some indie film makers are complaining about this too, but 24mpbs for the AVCHD codec is surprisingly good. |
