bmw maint.

hey where do you go for your maintenance? dealerships are too expensive.

brakes, i go to budget (i buy my own pads and rotors and they install them)
oil changes, do it yourself.
transmission, i haven't done anything yet (still at under 50ks)

CG motorsports in Richmond is great.

skylinergtr 07-18-2010 01:28 AM

i've been satisfied with these two shops.

- Gold Wrench Automotives in North Vancouver
- German Auto Spots in Surrey

Best of luck.

thanks all!

Anybody else have any opinion about German Autosports? Thinking about taking my car there as I live really close to them.

its quite close to me as well. u live in the fleetwood area?

greendb7 07-23-2010 03:18 PM

More in the Guildford area, still pretty damn close.
I'm just shopping around for prices at the moment, I stumbled across this thread and was curious about them as I've never heard of them before

CharlieH 07-25-2010 04:21 PM

cg motorsports IS really really good but they charge just as much as the dealer for labour. ive been hearing good things about brian jessel autohaus, and i think RS might have some sort of member pricing with them?

Anjew 07-25-2010 11:55 PM

what about

http://www.brianjesselautohaus.com/

just call em up for pricing... its not a dealership.

pingu81 07-26-2010 12:35 PM

I've heard nothing but good things about German Auto Sports in Surrey.

dhari 10-18-2010 03:02 PM

i called German Auto Sports and cannot seem to get a hold of them. anyone know whats up?
i left them a voicemail and called a few times after that.

i really need to get my car fixed asap. just ordered a thermostat from lordco, need to get it installed, possibly a waterpump.

bcrdukes 10-18-2010 04:43 PM

Are you actually located in Vancouver?

If so, try the RS sponsors (Speed Syndicate/Drivehard Performance/Rise Auto Salon/Brian Jessel Autohaus etc.)

If you're in Surrey, try The Euro Shop.

dhari 10-18-2010 04:58 PM

im in surrey. i just gave The Euro Shop a call (no answer, probly closed)
i will try them tomorrow though.

thanks!

bcrdukes 10-18-2010 05:01 PM

Yeah, probably closed now but they are a good shop.

Need a car, never owned BMW, but love the drive and feel. Not a lot in the budget for huge maint. exp and repairs. Should I buy this car?

Don't bother with BJ. The customer facing service really sucks. I would go to nixon or cg when you're paying $100+/hr for service. Don't be fooled by their flashy website or twitter account :fullofwin:

I am a big fan of Nixon BMW in Burnaby personally, I am doing a lot of the work on my car myself these days but when I was having the shop support my racecar, they did all the maintenance and upgrades on the racecar from 07-09 and I was always happy with the work they did and the prices they charge. They work hard to try and get things done in a timely manner and are usually pretty straightforward about what you "NEED" to do, what you "SHOULD" do, and what you dont need to worry about.

Mike and Ryan are great guys. Excellent customer service and definitely know whats up.

where u go, i strongly recommend changing all 3, brake pads, brake rotors, and wear sensor

cheaper places will try to reuse your old one, do not reuse ur old one!

way too many cars come in with aftermarket or oe equipment but reuse the wear sensor. takes time to diagnose and to replace. get it done right the first time!
