Question about BCIT admissions after you get admitted into bcit and paid for your first term tuition, I am just wondering when can you expect your courses/timetable to be sent to you? hopefully early enough to buy all your textbooks before school starts? |
I'd say mid august to get your timetable. You should already know your courses? It should be in like the program page. For CST there was a breakdown of each level and what courses are in each level. When you find out your course just go here http://www.bcitbookstore.ca/bcit/ search the course and it'll show what textbooks are required and optional. It's also better to wait after your first lecture of the course where your instructor will tell you if you actually need the textbook or not. |
oh alright. sounds great. thanks for your help |
Usually its 1-2 weeks before your classes start however sometimes it might change the day before. You can get your textbooks anytime but I suggest after the first day. Ask your teachers if you really need them. on that note, what program are you taking? If it's marketing I have all the first year books ;) |
lol oh im taking first year financial management |

As for your text books I'd suggest not buying them until the second or third week. In the first week your instructors will most likely photocopy any material you need since they know some people won't have their books yet. The pro about not buying your books ahead of time is because the lineup at the bookstore is INSANE during the first week. Regardless of what your instructor specifies on your book list, some of those books you'll never touch or will only use once. I've always held off until I needed a book twice before ever buying it. The only con about buying your books late is the used selection will be a bit dry. |

lol i did two years at capilano first for an associates. hopefully that might help a little with bcit. seems like the consensus is to buy textbooks later. guess i will have to suffer through the lineupssss. |
I just finished my first year of fin man. dhari is right, its going to be overwhelming at first but just do your homework and you'll be fine. PM me for texts! |
I graduated from the Building Technology program years ago and gotta agree with everything that's been said so far. You get your schedule usually a few weeks before classes start. Most of the programs there are pretty intense, you just need to budget your time properly. Good luck. |
Need any finman books?;) Posted via RS Mobile |
your schedule might be up now. Mine is but I'm expecting it to change last minute. Use it to check what set you are if you have friends in the same program. |
what the hell when i try to click on schedules, it says my access is denied for some reason |
yeah.. I get the same error |
yeah the fall semester schedules are up now. |
hmm it doesnt seem like i see them. am i checking in the right spot? i sign in to mybcit and then i click the check my schedule but it says im not registered for anything. should i be concerned? |
