I just find it funny that's all but then again I'm not rich so I can't even think about spending 50mill on a house. Good for him just as long as he's smart in the long run. You hear so many storys about superstars being broke at the end of their career.

Its not like I care tho I'm just sayin

As Mr BIGGS pointed out, he makes far more than $50M in sponsorships.

Szeto 07-19-2010 11:27 AM

With a house that big you can fit all of Lebron's family and relatives in there :D

pretty pimp house.

A story on ChicagoBusiness.com estimated that James' economic impact in his new market could generate as much as $2.7 billion should he lead a team to multiple championships. That figure, which some might find laughable, is based on spikes in a combination of ticket sales, lucrative television rights, merchandise sold and tourism.

Other things he endorses:

* Bubblicious
* Cannondale Bicycle Company
* Coca-Cola (Coke, Sprite & Vitaminwater)
* Cub Cadet
* MSN
* Nike
* State Farm Insurance
* Upper Deck

Damn... that's some crafty shit haha

MJ obviously, he's still making bank with JB.......

ok I know a lot of people here seem to think this purchase is fine. And really it is. Random: Antoine Walker make over 100 mil and he is broke. Food for thought.

pintoBC_3sgte 07-19-2010 05:24 PM

Haha you guys do know he'll probably just hire a decorator to redo the interior..

It's not like he spent 50 mill on hookers and drugs, he spent 50 mill on a house something that will keep or increase in value.

balling.

NBA players are pretty shitty with their money
"A statistic was cited during the meeting that startled some of the hoopsters. It was said that 60 per cent of retired NBA players go broke five years after their NBA paycheques stop arriving."

he can always sell the house when he's low on cash in the future.

if he spent 50 millions purely on cars and he's not the owner of a major company, then he is retarted. But it's a house, and houses keep their values pretty well.

Yup just ask Antoine Walker

johny 07-19-2010 11:23 PM

a 50mill house in US isn't going to keep it's value. but will still be worth a bit down the road.

vafanculo 07-19-2010 11:42 PM

I doubt he threw down all $50M in cash. If he got a 25 year mortgage let's say, that's maybe 3M a year.. No biggie if he's making that much money.

Lol, but even if he threw all 50 down he'd be ok

haha he's not the only one. Next up on the bankruptcy will be Iverson soon

Quote:

In 2005, NBA star turned analyst Charles Barkley admitted "After four years in the league, I was dead broke." Barkley also revealed he gave money away to whomever needed it feeling "the burden of forgetting where I came from".

Here's a list of casualties:

Latrell Sprewell, estimated career earnings: $50 million (Filed bankruptcy, 2007) Kenny Anderson, estimated career earnings: $60 million (Filed bankruptcy, 2005) Derrick Coleman, estimated career earnings: $87 million (Filed bankruptcy, 2010) Antione Walker, estimated career earnings: $110 million (Filed bankruptcy, 2010) Scottie Pippen, estimated career earnings: $120 million (Filed bankruptcy, 2003)

Gulp! Just typing those figures made my heart drop! This epidemic spreads across all professional sports and touches athletes of both genres and all races. However black athletes from poor upbringings are affected the hardest.

In fact African American players make up 79 percent of the NBA. And according to the Toronto Star 60 percent of NBA players are broke five years after they retire. I'll let you do the math.
