LED Light Panels

I'm looking into getting some continous light for video, but find litepanels.com/.ca to be pretty damn expensive for a group of LED lights.

Does anyone know of any well priced alternatives that arn't complete junk?

They're expensive because each LED is individually calibrated to have consistent light output and daylight (I think 5200K) balanced. They're also well made.

I don't know of any cheap but good alternative, unfortunately.

after some more research, I might just get this el-cheapo ebay brand from Honk Kong. The stand is rather flimsy, but it's also like 1/7th the price of Litepanels....

So even if the cold shoe adapter breaks, I can buy a few more and still be well under the price of litepanels....

Personally, I'd would rather buy the Litepanels because I don't want to deal with weird colour temps. Tell me how you like them when you get it though.

Sure, np.

I'm going to pick up another 'Strobist Gel Pack' from MPEX in the states and make some proper gel colours for it for correction

maybe the concern is uneven color temps or light output across the panel

... interested in your review as well

^ good write up and video!

I ended up getting 2 160led lights from link delight (they are the same as the 126 in that review, but just brighter).

They are nothing fancy. Pretty plastic'y and lack a 1/4" thread. They do alright for the money though.

Can they run on an A/C Adaptor?

I'm not sure. They have a few different battery types in the back, so if you could find an a/c adaptor that fit, maybe.

I just run them on AA's. They last at full brightness for 2 hours, then they dim to about 1/3 power ish

I need 6 plus hours. The continuous light I'm using is not powerful enough.
