If you're a fan of aircraft and aviation, air shows are great entertainment because they are an opportunity to get up close to sights and sounds the general public is otherwise kept far away from.
According to here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._and_incidents
There's only small handful of accidents worldwide each year. A small minority of those involve spectators.
The pilots spend years and thousands of hours training to fly aircraft. Idiots don't make it past ground school.
You may not enjoy them, but many people do, and they aren't stupid.

It looks like the right engine stalled from one of the pictures in the globe and mail. Maybe the recovery for slow flight in the high alpha pass was to light the afterburners but right engine stalled causing a forceful yaw. To compensate this yaw, the pilot puts in left rudder but possibly no much airflow over the rudders. Also not to mention Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) can't do much since in order to correct this imbalance, there needs to be sufficient airflow over the aircraft. Just my 2 cents

Better video: LiveLeak.com - CF-18 Hornet Crash 07-23-10 | Yeah, you can see it in the pics too, left nozzle vs the right.

i think thats the first time thats ever happend | I have no problems changing my views on things. If someone can present an argument or retort properly, and I agree with their view, I'll be happy to change.
But if people act like morons and trolls, I treat them accordingly.

Just my 2 cents | The CF-18 don't have FADEC. FADEC is something fairly new. The F/A-18E/F have FADEC. You have to rig the FCU with good old rig pins, a tensiometer, turnbuckles.

Looks like whats left of the wreckage is coming here to Cold Lake for examination. I'd like to have a look at the right engine, especially the low pressure compressor.
