Modding a honda civic hybrid 09 - bad/good?

So my friend just got a civic 09 hybrid and was thinking about modding it.. or trading it + cash for my si. I'm pretty hyped about the mileage and stuff, but not too sure about the power because it's pretty weak imo

Looking for some opinions, do you think it'd be stupid to mod a hybrid? i.e change the intake .. exhaust.. etc.

I'm a noob at this, still doing my research so any tips and advice would be highly appreciated (: Thanks

With a Civic hybrid, you want economy. If you want power, get something else or keep your Si.

You can't have both.

More power + more fuel.

there is always other way to mod a car to be faster instead of i/h/e.

try improving the suspension, brakes, balance of the vehicle. that is what I intend to do when I get my hybrid :)

It's not that I want to be crazy fast, just that 110ish bhp annoys me when I try to keep up with traffic . If I can get it to be as fast as a stock SI i'd be happy

i/h/e is not going to do much with a 110 hp engine. your lucky to even get 10 hp.

if you are looking for power to pass or at the light. trade for the si. more gas more hp. got to pay to play.

no I H E will not give the weak sauce hybrid 10hp

dont waste money modding a hopeless car

why did he buy a hybrid if he wants to mod it? you only buy a hybrid for fuel efficient..with the fuel prices nowaday..i would love to drive the hybrid

go trade it in for something else..i wouldn't mod it

There's a reason why people buy econo-box, hybrids and speed isn't it.

The only way you can make it perform better and still maintain the fuel economy, is to improve the handling without increasing the weight or rolling resistance.

As everyone says, no point modding the engine of the hybrid. Just play with the suspension, wheels and aero kits. Make it looks nice while having a great fuel consumption in this crazily expensive gas.
Oh, don't forget to lose that hybrid badge. Keep it clean!
