The main thing is to use a cleaner that is alcohol based, not ammonia based like Windex. The other things are to make sure it is warm inside the car and use two towels, Make sure the towel you are using to dry the glass is dry and not damp. If the buffing towel is damp, you'll never get streak free glass. Most of the crud on your windshield can be attributed to a few things. Air conditioning will leave a film on the glass when in use. The biggest thing is the toxins released by the interior materials in your car. The newer the car, the more toxins are released.

Makes sense. I've been using all kinds of glass cleaner without success. (Including Windex and a variety of no-name clones)

Is there a recommended brand of alcohol-based glass cleaner?

Is there a way to clean the inside of a very sloped rear glass. It's very tiring (need to use upward pressure at an odd angle) and because of the lousy products I was using, it hasn't come clean ever. I was thinking of making some sort of cleaning device out of an old squeegee.

I just use a microfiber towel and this Eagle 1 Automotive Glass Cleaner I found in the garage. So long as I buff it all off without it just drying from sunlight with the microfiber it comes off streak free. I'm sure there is better stuff out there, but this is what I have experience with.

I've been using stoners invisible glass in the aerosol can for years. A little pricey for a glass cleaner but works very well. You can get it at canadian tire. As to the cleaning process, I have no recommendations. It's just one of those things where you gotta get in there and give her.

stoners is good. but i just use ONR in QD mixture.

costco is the cheapest for invisible glass.

Best glass cleaner I've used as of now, just spray on window, wipe it down, will leave smoggy lines, wipe it down with dry part of cloth, glass is like new

Invisible glass works well and follow instructions from Ken for a streak free window.

My personal fav is Autoglym Fast Glass.

Turns out that a microfibre cloth and even just water does a great job. I may use a glass cleaner but the mcrofibre cloth is the key!
