What's an eCheck?

So I sold this item on eBay, however I only asked for PayPal payment, but the user paid by eCheck. Apparently, eBay states it will take up to 6-8 days to process the transaction.

My question is can I cancel his transaction and resell my item?
Or is eCheck another word for PayPal?

Thanks.

I think an eCheck is when somebody has insufficient funds on their paypal and chooses not to charge using a Credit Card.
And since transactions from normal bank accounts into a paypal account takes a few business days to transfer, the eCheck basically means you'll get the money when the money order goes through.

echeck is just like a cheque, just wait till it clears and ship out the item

If you have a credit card attached to your account, then you are able to pay instantly via your credit card or bank account (assuming it's registered). If you choose to pay by credit card, the payment is charged onto your CC. If you choose to pay by bank account, because you have a secondary source of payment (the CC), PayPal will automatically send the funds to the seller, while funds from your bank is sent over to PayPal (usually takes a couple of days).

However, if you only have a bank account attached, then an eCheck occur. That is when the payment goes from your bank account directly to the seller because PayPal won't pay the seller in advance for you. Hence the wait, which btw is much longer as opposed to funds being withdrawn.
