I was driving back to Richmond tonight at around 9 pm tonight, and saw a Van with emergency lights parked on the shoulder right before the Alderbridge exit. Does anybody know if that was a cop? |
never speed down knight st. hill towards the bridge southbound. just tonight..saw a police cruiser hiding in the alley way just waiting and then coming back to vancouver, saw another cruiser on the side of the road on hwy 91 eastbound right before the exit off to knight bridge. watch out guys! |
Honestly I don't get why they don't just raise the limit there. So you go down the hill going 80, get busted, then 200m later the limit is 80 anyways? Sure there's a merge point, but it goes into a 3rd lane, and there's more than enough room for those guys to accelerate up to speed before the Mitchell Island exit. And don't give me the pedestrian crap. There's a crosswalk with lights there, and even people going 80 are going to stop when the light turns red. If they are going to run it, they will run it going 60 anyways. I guess the only difference is how far the pedestrian flies if he's dumb enough not to look both ways first. Sounds like a cash grab to me, sorry. It's about as retarded as why the Oak Bridge is 60 until AFTER the No.4 road exit then suddenly jumps to 90. Everyone coming off the bridge is going 80-90 anyways. As many studies show, arbitrarily slapping a number onto the side of a road is not going to change people's perceptions of a "safe speed". It's also been noted in several articles that the reasons for such stupid low limits here in BC are purely political and no longer based on science. |
