Kind of expensive, no? Which years?

The Ford Fusion is the same thing as a Mazda6, which is the same class/type/size of car as the Accord(TL for size)/Camry. Had a fusion as a rental a while ago. It's a good drive... and I'll probably get stoned or failed :p for this, but the latest Chevy Impala is a very good drive, especially on the highway. I wouldn't expect it to hold up too well beyond 5-7 years though.

During that month of snow in Dec '08, I only got stuck once and it was because the snow was too deep for my low-clearance BMW... not because of the RWD. Thankfully I was stuck in the middle of the road, blocking two lanes of traffic, so there were plenty of volunteers to help push me out of the ditch.

you guys are lucky over on the island! lol

Speaking of Fusion. I had it as a loaner and it's not half bad. If u just need a car to go from A to B, u should definitely give it some consideration.

Haha,well... The weather is identical to Vancouver's most of the time, with slightly less precipitation (and thus slightly less snow).

The more "lucky" part about living on the island is house prices...

At 22k you can drive away a brand spanking new Cube from the dealership :P

For the guy coming from a Civic this works :D

I've owned a 2004 TSX since new. A few things you should be aware of.

Door actuators will break down ($270 to fix), transmission broke down at 85000 km ($5000 to replace), temperature gauge broke down ($1100 to replace w/ a new one or about $480 to replace with a used one). On top of these prices, you'll also have to pay the dealership a $140 diagnostic fee to have them find out what the problem is. I'm on schedule with my car maintenance but guess these may be common problems with the TSX.

When it comes to mileage I'll be lucky to get 400 kms per tank.

Ouch, sorry to hear about your tranny breaking down. I've read the door actuators are a common problem on the TSX. Still, at least it's a cheap fix (comparatively).

Thanks to all for the responses!

I don't think he really wants to fork over the cash for a brand new car... he'd rather pick up a better car with 50-100k kilometers already on the clock. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

400km per tank for a 4 banger, that's pretty bad

My parents just picked up a G35 and they love it (albeit it's a coupe). Another option might be the Toyota Matrix?

Agreed, unless you're an idiot, you should be able to drive RWD all year round no problem.
