yeah but for most of these made for tv documentaries about marijuana the narrator tends to have a biased script towards the herb being abused as a recreational drug.
I watched a documentary on botany a few days ago that included marijuana as a plant that has affected humans along side apples, tulips and potatoes. Unfortunately they implied a negative effect.

and no one ever talks about how healthy the herb is for you when you consume it in a better way than smoking or tincture. Even the seeds can be extremely beneficial to your health - they sell shelled seeds at superstore(expensive) and you can see the nutrition info on the back.

You're talking about "The Botany of Desire", that was a great show. I didn't feel it had implied negativity tones toward Marijuana, in fact I thought it was more the opposite, it really shows the rediculousness of a U.S. government to ban a naturally growing plant, a weed of all things.

What's even more rediculous is that the prohibition of marijuana was mostly brought about by the fact that the U.S. government wanted to control the minority populations (Blacks and Hispanics) who primarily used the drug.

I find this propagandic quote from Harry J. Anslinger (The commissioner of the federal bureau of narcotics) particularly hilarous:

“There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos, and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz, and swing, result from marijuana use. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers, and any others.”

“…the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races.”

“Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death.”

“Reefer makes darkies think they’re as good as white men.”

“Marihuana leads to pacifism and communist brainwashing”

“You smoke a joint and you’re likely to kill your brother.”

“Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind.”


And the problem is, a lot of people today in one form or another still believe this SHIT he was spewing.

I honestly don't see whats so bad about pot...
I mean, using marijuana has never had any negative repercussions as far as I know.
It's a natural growing plant on earth, its not some chemical or man made drug for the sole purpose of getting you fucked.
Every year more people die or tobacco and alcohol than marijuana =/

The big difference is that opium must be processed (refined) to become heroin.

Marijuna is natural in that it does not have to be processed before consumption.

You can get high off opium by make it into at tea. Basically just grinding up dried opium pods and brewing them.

Just watched the whole series with a bunch of friends tonight ... The weed one was great, showed stuff from Holland - Love how the "king of cannabis" goes around the world to try to find the best strains.

I hate the BC pot culture. I hate walking through my building and smelling weed. I really hate that people tell me, with a hint of pride, that they don't drink, but only occasionally smoke weed. To me, its worse. I know that a lot of people can't handle alcohol, but I never have to smell your beer when I'm walking through the hall.

I don't think people need to do time for pot, but I am definitely against legalization.
