Where to buy automotive shop equipment i'm in the market for a tire changer/ tire machine. would like to buy a used one, probably from some shop going under. does anyone know where or who deals with items like this. the only one i know of atm is able auction but they never seem to have tire machines. |
go ask Jline tires if they'll unload their corghi for cheap.... |
The old guys I used to deal with are gone now. But you can always call Kendallco. I despise them, as they offer used shop equipment, at unusually high prices. Another idea is to check online. I bought a hoist from these guys. Their most expensive tire machine is $3215 http://naautoequipment.com/user/gima...60_317_324.jpg http://naautoequipment.com/tc960.html |
have you tried asking tire shops where they buy from? |
I think lordco can get all that stuff, so can any snap on rep. your best bet though is what racerman said, talk to local shops you like and find out where they get them from. not just tire shops, almost every shop will have a tire machine. you gonna get a balancer too? |
You mite be able to get some info or a lead from B-Line in Burnaby they deal with products to do with changing tires. Posted via RS Mobile |
i'll check out b-line. most tire shops don't really want to divulge their secrets. why would they say "oh yeah you can buy one cheap at xxx place" when they are there to make money off you. either way i'll ask. naa seems like a good option. i don't need a balancer. i'm looking for a machine under 3k that has at least one helper arm and preferably a unit with built in bead blaster. this unit looks good but i havn't contacted them yet but its free shipping to their pick up location in washington so that would work good. http://naautoequipment.com/ntc950.html |
They're good to deal with. I needed a forklift to remove the hoist from the truck, as it was heavy as hell. The tire machine won't be as bad, but I bet you'll still need some sort of loading dock, Hiab truck, or power tailgate. |
650 lbs, i was hoping to get away with some tow straps and an engine crane??? |
