no....just my past...been there, done that...hung out with the wrong group of people...and paid the price.

No one is discounting your past or experiences, but to imply that Vancouver is a city of guns and gangsters is laughable at best. Vancouver is a generally safe place to live, and although YOUR circle of friends and lifestyle may take you into more scenarios that involve so-called 'gangsters', the truth is that the vast majority of people will never be exposed to, or experience this, so stop pretending like we all live or have lived like you did.
