Best place to buy detailing stuff in the States?

I have someone from the USA visiting me sometime this year. He can bring in the stuff so shipping to BC shouldn't be a problem.

Do you guys know which sites are good?
so far i'm looking at:

www.autogeek.net
www.detailedimage.com

If you have any other suggestions please let me know.

Looking to buy a 7424xp, some pads, and some compounds. Already have the basic stuff for washing.

Thanks

why not just order from Ken? If you must I\'d recommend detailersdomain.com

thanks! it's cheaper down there, so might as well take the opportunity.

well, check out Ken's shop/site, if you aren't in a rush then wait for a sale? last one was 15% off except buffer machines.

yeah, well i'm looking for a Pc7424 lol

Szeto 08-16-2010 02:29 PM

how much can you save on that??

PC7424XP currently listed at $168.99 (cheaper ones can be found online but shipping makes it more expensive than getting it local)

PORTER CABLE COMPLETE POLISHING KIT is currently listed at $283 and comes with whole bunch of stuff, check out the link.

Some price reference for you to compare against US pricing. Since you are getting a polisher I am assuming you have some interest in keeping your car shiny/clean so alternatively you can have your friend/family bring you a Dyson standup/handheld vac :)

I'd say order from Ken as well if it's your first time. He can at least show you some pointers on how to use it and help you with your pad selection to make the most of your 7424.

If you're already experienced or know exactly what you want, you can try Coastal Tool. I bought mine from there years ago and they seem to have pretty much the lowest price on the Internet. ($119USD with free shipping) You'll need a US address though to order from them (and possibly a US credit card if you can't enter in a Canadian billing address) They also have a selection of Lake County pads and backing plates if you don't already have some.

If there is anything I can help you with, let me know. I know pricing in the US is cheaper right now but what are you going to do if you have a problem with it? Everything we sell is guaranteed 100%. If there is a problem with anything we sell, we take care of it. Just sayin'.

I hope it\'s not to late, but I should\'ve mentioned it in my first post. If you\'re buying a polisher and pads I think it\'s best to go through Ken in person. You can try out the different polishers, pads, backing plates, polishes, and even lighting to see what suits you best. That you can\'t put a price on, it\'s really important to get a feel for the polisher so you know what you\'ll be getting used to. Good luck with the hunt!
