The guy then pulled up to me saying he wasn't stalking me or anything, but was just wondering what vehicle year my car was. He said he was interested in purchasing a car similar to mine. (I drive an older model suby). The man was a caucasian male in his late 40s/early 50s, and he told me he has a porsche, but he wanted a car that was "fun to drive" for work.

Overall it just seemed like a very suspicious occurance and I'm still kind of puzzled right now.

Has anybody else experienced something like this?
Or does anyone know what this could be about?

TIA

Or looking for a car of the same exact make & model to steal.

gilly 08-12-2010 12:13 PM

Maybe he wasn't interested in your car but interested in you.

bcrdukes 08-12-2010 12:25 PM

A smarter thinig to have done is:

1. Get details of the car this guy was driving
2. Get his plate number
3. Get a description of what this guy looks like
4. Note the time this happened
5. Report this to the police non-emergency line

Do not:

1. Post this on Revscene asking for help on frivulous instances such as this.

Thank you

Edit: You posted this via RS Mobile too. This deserves a serious facepalm

You know I have this thing that follows me lots of places too. It's always right behind me and it's really freaky. it usually goes away when i get into the safety of my house but as soon as i leave again it's right there following me.

should i report this?

He forgot your girlfriends address

Phil@rise 08-12-2010 01:10 PM

Do you owe anyone money drugs or sexual favors?
Is your car worth being stolen by a dude in a midlife crisis?
Do you express yourself in a homosexual manner that might attract other homosexuals?

If your answer is yes to any of these you may want to invest in some extra security an entourage to protect you and sleep with one eye open.

Otherwise quit watching so many scary movies

murd0c 08-12-2010 01:17 PM

I've had so many people stop me and ask me questions about my vehicles I don't think about it at all. Could just be a nice guy wanting to know about it but honestly I don't think it's something to worry about.

Leparto 08-12-2010 05:24 PM

lol someones a bit paranoid

Yeah but people who's admired my car in the past and people who's car I admired don't go out of their way to follow you along the sidestreets.

For normal people, the admiration usually lasts for only the moment each driver share shares the same route. I've never seen a driver deviate from his route to continue admiring. Especially that the car in question is a non-exotic and a closer inspection is available to anyone that can walk into a car dealership.

Gnomes 08-12-2010 05:35 PM

Private investigator?

FerrariEnzo 08-12-2010 05:43 PM

exactly why the entire situation puzzled me.

my purpose of posting this wasn't to ask for help or what to do...
i was just wondering if anybody has been in a similar situation before,
and what the outcome was after filing a report.

SkinnyPupp 08-12-2010 06:00 PM

A lot of people didn't like them in the FUS thread, but I thought they were hilarious, and suitable here:
