Kaiyodo Doll how to check authenticity I'm looking for some desk art, and I want to buy a cammy doll, but there is such a huge discrepency on prices on ebay that I can't tell what's authentic or fake or a replica everything seemed prices around the same (60-80) until I came across this guy's post http://cgi.ebay.com/Kaiyodo-1-6-Stre...ht_2237wt_1137 He's from richmond too. http://cgi.ebay.com/Cammy-Street-Fig...0#ht_500wt_928 http://cgi.ebay.com/STREET-FIGHTER-C...efaultDomain_0 |
I think the price is based on how much was manufactured, popularity, and depends on seller. It's pretty much supply and demand. The white, black, and blue Cammy figure seems to go for a bit more because of the limited amount, but the pink ones float around +60. This person is from BC, too, but is selling it for +300. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Street-Fighter-Ze...efaultDomain_0 Anyways... can't say much about authenticity considering the amount of replicas out there, but usually the details and paint job are lacking compared to the original. Some might have a small holographic image on the box which is said to be a slight indication of authenticity, but don't take my word for face value.:p If your buying an opened one make sure to ask how long it's been out for, because PVC figures tend to bend/lean after years of exposure from light/heat. |

theres a good possibility that this is fake. I emailed the seller asking for an upclose picture of the sticker. >:( This is what he just sent me. Hi, there is no need to as you are the winning bidder of the figure. Thanks for the purchase. I sent you an eBay invoice. Best Regards, Steve. - sjkryten So I replied back saying that I would really like the original image in the add so I don't get hit with a bait and switch. |
you're protected, go paypal and file a complaint if this shithappened. u sort of have to ask before u win.. but don't worry.. |
http://cgi.ebay.com/Kaiyodo-1-6-Stre...ht_2237wt_1137 I emailed this guy to meet up but he will not meet. It's making me think its fake. |
Yeah, I think that one you bid on should be okay, but make sure to carefully look over the colours, paint job, sculpting, box, and seal/stickers. Most fakes usually have faded or incorrect colours, poor paint job and sculpting, but some might actually have an authentic looking box. It's honestly pretty hard just by judging someones picture that might end up not being theirs. Anyways, I probably would have gone for the same one considering there ain't much other options for a white version and decent price, but that local one seems a bit much for a figure that was released back in '07 for $70. Hope it all works out for ya. |
Many ebayers don't meet in person (I never do) It could be fake, but that's not the only indicator Posted via RS Mobile |
I'm paying him. He sent me pics of the sticker. yay. |
