Berz's story is the best story i've heard on RS in a month. that's awesome. i was thinking the same thing actually, if I can beat someone for touching my stuff.

My car got broken into in metrotown underground parkade, and if i ever see someone breaking into a car down there, i will beat him down.

TheStreetDream 08-19-2010 10:15 PM

Berz, you are my hero of the week.

StealthFighter 08-20-2010 01:32 AM

running outside in boxers to beat the shit out of a guy...reminds me more of american history x.

Walperstyle 08-20-2010 02:29 AM

I'm sure officially the police don't want you beating up criminals, but yeah, my buds that are RCMP secretly like you guys.

Just remember, anyone anywhere can press charges on you. Just make sure you have odds in your favor in any situation so you have a leg to stand on in court.

Wasnt there an urban legend back a few years where a burglar broke into a house, steal stuff and on his way out, he slip and fell on the street. He sued the house owners or something...

Sadly enough, this is true

He might go to jail for the evening or the week, but after he will be able to sue you under tort law although he broke the law under the criminal code.

Berzerker 08-20-2010 10:30 AM

Actually that's why the police usually don't take your info if you perform Vigilante Justice. No way for it to come back to you. I never even got asked my name.

Berz out.

Soundy 08-20-2010 10:46 AM

He'd still have to prove you did it, too... rather than just tripping and landing on his face... on a cactus.

if a gay bum jumped on your back would you beat him off?

real story happened to my friend (I was on scene), one night after dinner we go pick up his car at a outdoor parking lot in downtown, a bum came up and kick my friend's bumper for no reason, my friend chase him down and kick his ass, a cop car drove by, stopped and ask us what’s going on. my friend told them the story and was asked to turn around then got handcuffed. He was given a lecture from the cops saying he can get arrested about improper conduct in public but was release on scene, my friend then ask whats gonna happen to the bum and cop just ask my friend to call ICBC if there are damage.
I guess “legally” and that’s what would happen to you if the cop follow the book, but of course it all depend s on how each cop respond to the incident

what if i break his arm or something.. would i go to jail?

Break his fingers too, so he can't call the cops. ;)

sebberry 08-22-2010 09:45 AM

I can't say I would "beat the shit out of him" but he would be getting pulled out of the car pretty quickly. If he happened to stumble over as I marched him away from the car then so be it.

Now if I was in the car at the time as if it were a carjacking scenario, I would defend myself to the best of my abilities. If that means running over his foot, then so be it.

I actually caught up to the guy who stole my ex's car. Pulled him over, punched out the window, wrapped the seatbelt around the guys neck and choked him with it then dragged him out the window and held him till cops came. The cops said to him.... "Your lucky that's all he did to you buddy"

So I guess it depends on the cops attending the scene.

Berz out.

seriously, u punched out a window? Not calling you a liar, but mythbusters did an exp on it and it was actually pretty difficult if you were using your bare hands

that was a windshield, on older cars the side windows aren't safety glass and are pretty thin.

ToneCapone 08-31-2010 05:54 PM

lol, from experience... I punched out the rear side window (the small one) of my 98 prelude and I cut up my hand pretty nicely. Got many small cuts and one huge one right on my knuckle. But I guess depends how you hit it and on the glass. One thing is for sure... if you gunna do it... punch through it, if you dont break the glass you gonna break your wrist.

sebberry 08-31-2010 06:11 PM

Yep, broken glass is sharp :p

I always dreamed of a "in progress theft"...where the theif has his legs dangling outside the door sill...and i came along to do a spin kick to the door...then slam it repeatedly until his legs become powder....
