P265/75R16" michelin LTX AT2

they're currently on biiiiig time back order... my BFG all-terrains are really bald and i wasn't too fond of them... if i bot a second set of rims, i'm putting dedicated winter tires on them... a third set of wheels would have 32" mudterrain KM2

murd0c 10-19-2010 11:02 PM

nice, I'm going to keep my stock tires if I want to go on longer road trips so I don't have to worry about my good tires. Have you looked around for the tires or thought about going down south to get them?

narfy 10-20-2010 07:14 AM

they're on backorder everywhere i've checked... USA and canada... michelin usa has 200+ of them on back order... sucks...
i'm looking for the AT2 with the lowest load index... looking for the best "one tire does most" type of thing...

i just caved in and got sick of waiting for the michelin AT2, so on my truck now are another set of BFG AT...

Well last weekend I got my rock sliders fitted and they are out for black powder coating right now.

Now tomm after work I'm heading straight down to Rise Auto salon and Phil is going to install a compustar pager alarm for me.

Tomm is the first day of it being fully insured as well oh ya!!!

your rock sliders are bolt on, or weld on? i gotta see pics!! kuz i've been wanting to get rock sliders for my truck for quite some time... but i don't know what looks good...

murd0c 11-05-2010 07:44 AM

I would only go with weld on slider.s I actually got the 68" ones from trail gear and they are awesome. I will post some pics for you when they are done.

narfy 11-05-2010 09:31 AM

yeah... i thot about the TG ones... only issue is, both my wife and i are fairly short... so we need something to step on to get into the truck... i'm prolly gonna get a set, and have checker plate welded on the top, then spray bed liner onto them for grip... but i want a bolt on set... i could just have brackets made up, and then the sliders welded onto those brackets... we'll see... i'm in no rush...

murd0c 11-05-2010 06:36 PM

One big thing never spray bedliner onto rock sliders or step bars. Yes it may give you grip but in the summer or even if you are wearing light pants you will really scrape up your legs bad and you can't get it off. Best bet would be to add a different handle so you could pull your self up easier.

You don't want to drop them to low either since you will lose ground clearence and it will be easier to tear them off.

otay... powder coat it is on the sliders lol after they get checker plates added... they'll be as close to teh body as possible without making contact... i want them removable incase i don't plan on keeping the truck lol

murd0c 11-06-2010 05:24 PM

You could still remove them but you would have to cut them off

Just finished having my alarm installed at rise and they ended up hooking me up with a wicked Alumina h4 kit, that should be perfect for ripping down a logging road at light

murd0c 11-09-2010 06:53 AM

damm that is a pretty nice exhaust, if I only had the cash right now for that but want to get a deck first with bluetooth.

narfy 11-09-2010 08:01 AM

my guy at work here has a pioneer avic F90BT ready to fit directly into your 4runner (came out of his 97 after he wrecked it) for $600... comes with 4runner din brackets, and adapter harness so no cutting/splicing is required... comes with everythign in the box except the ipod/usb/rca cable which can be had for $30ish

murd0c 11-09-2010 09:11 AM

I'm actually picking up the Clarion CZ500 from Rise. Seems like a good head unit for the price. I don't need anything to fancy since it will get pretty dusty in the summer time.

OTG-ZR2 11-09-2010 09:59 AM

what kind of alarm did you get? 2 way remote start??

murd0c 11-09-2010 10:53 PM

yep a nustart 2 way remote pager with auto start. It works awesome.

narfy 11-12-2010 07:43 AM

did your truck come with the dealer installed RS3000 tvip system keyless entry alarm? if so, u wanna sell it?

murd0c 11-12-2010 11:58 AM

yep it came with it but I actually gave it to one of my buddys who needed a new fob. :(

Hey Reece I'm no Toyota pro but that timing belt doesn't look mint to me and I chatted with Akira about it and he agrees. He also agrees timing belts should be changed by the 80-100k mark. But he is also no Toyota pro this is just common practice. Now if your going to run it for much longer and take a chance I'd find out if it's an interference motor cus if it is and the belt gives way then you will have screwed a whole lot of valves at the very least. If its not an interference motor and you'd like to chance it just keep up to date with BCAA.
Timing chains generally are good for 200k's but not belts.

narfy 11-20-2010 12:25 PM

that toyota timing belt is easily good for 150k... it's a really wide belt... it'll be fine...

toyota timing chains are good for the lifetime of the engine, in most cases...

the 5VZ-FE engine is NOT an interference engine... so if it snaps, it's not a big deal.. ur stranded and you need a tow... worst part is, if the belt snaps, you're almost always in a bad spot, in an area not easily accessible by tow truck...

murd0c 11-20-2010 11:33 PM

^ yep exactly and Phil how would you know what my timing belt looks like since you never saw it in person :p
