So this thing just came out a couple weeks ago and it's a hybrid wired/wireless gaming mouse. Meaning it'll function as a wireless mouse, but with the option of plugging in the cable for a direct data connection. The data cable also doubles as a charging cable. According to the reviews people have been giving this mouse on hardforums, it's an incredibly solid product with no real issues, unlike say the Saitek R.A.T. 7 and the Steelseries Xai. Normally I wouldn't consider this mouse as it's huge and fat and definitely designed as a palm-grip mouse as seen in the above pictures, but you can't ignore its apparent polish and lack of anything wrong with it (again, rare).

Currently it's listed at $99 USD on Newegg (Logitech says they have an exclusivity deal for the moment, and you can't even buy it from Logitech themselves). Would you pay that? Considering that the Razer Mamba seems to be its direct competitor and lists for $130 USD.

What's up with you and gaming mouse?

RabidRat 08-22-2010 08:55 PM

Because I'm starting to play more games now and since I have the option to get anything I want from Logitech as a replacement for my discontinued VX Revolution (including keyboards, speakers, etc that I could just sell off if I felt like getting a mouse from a mfg other than Logitech), I started looking around.

Besides, what's wrong with discussing gaming mice in the Computer Tech and Gaming forum?

It doesn't just apply to gaming mice.

G700 looks interesting, will probably pick it up when I find it locally.

every logitech product i owns fucking dies.

But their warranty is awesome. I wonder if they'll RMA my G7 for the G700.. rofl. That G700 looks like a beast. Of all the Logitech products I've had only 2 mice have died on me. From those 2 the first one RMA'd no problem and they shipped me a free replacement. The 2nd I have yet to do.

I was actually just on the phone with Logitech a couple days ago, they said they'd sold out of the few that they had in stock, and all the rest of the shipment was delivered to Newegg.com. They said they don't expect to receive more for at least 1-2 months. I confirmed this with a second rep too. =(

I wonder if they'll send me a replacement since my logitech cordless desktop wave is kinda wonky.

Dude what about my G5 project!! ;)

But ya there's absolutely no reason why they wouldn't give you a G700 so you might as well wait for it.

Oh without question. Even if you're not still within the warranty period, there's a decent chance they'll still help you out :lol. They are that awesome.

mb_ 08-23-2010 01:19 AM

$99? Damn that's pretty cheap lol.

Szeto 08-23-2010 07:59 AM

insomniac 08-23-2010 10:59 AM

If you call them and they send you a new one, you gotta send the busted one back right?

I swear to god I can find at least 5 broken Logitech items in my house

Nope. I've never sent them anything back. They will invalidate the old serial number on there end though. All there recent stuff is like 3-5 years warranty. They may ask for a receipt too.
