need a jacket copied

I'm willing to do the legwork and get whatever fabric is needed, just need someone who can show refer me to a person who could duplicate a wool jacket.

Basically I missed out a couple years ago on a Banana Republic pea coat, and the years following they changed the design subtly but in ways I did not like.

My roommate has that coat, and everytime I wear it I feel like a million bucks. However, he cant be bought as he loves the coat too. But he did say he doesnt care if I duplicate one for myself.

Suggestions?

Really?
Would you have any suggestions on where I could get it done in HK?
Not that I plan on heading back anytime soon, but that's probably where I would get it done if I went back.

I'm curious what a custom wool jacket here would cost.

I'd love to get one in that faux-wool they use for boarding jackets, and have it fully seam-sealed.
I'd have it lined with hollowcore fiber.

But I'm probably dreaming, I don't think there is even any local place that would build me than for less than $600. :(

I think your best bet is in China. Places here usually will cost a leg/arm for a jacket made from thread that fits u.

When I was in vietnam I missed the boat on a dior peacoat that I really really wanted (wasn't willing to pay 1500 for it) and I brought a pic and got it tailored to me.

i got two jackets done there.
one was 10000 HKD and my other one was 5000
everything from fitting, to the pocketing have hidden zippers, to fabric, to lining, to cuffs, thread color, buttons were all designed by me. it was perfectly fitted and it was just a tad over 100 dollars from what i paid for at Zara. Hell, tax itself for a nice zara jacket is about 4 bills.
