but this same argument came up in the old MOH where you could play as Axis or Allies
and people started a shit storm about being able to play as nazis in multiplayer
there was huge debate over that and they wanted to ban the game too calling it insensitive to be able to play axis vs allies online -_-
its ridiculous if you ask me that they're pissed about this
and i skimmed some of that facebook debate and i notice many calling them terrorists... but the Taliban aren't terrorists they were freedom fighters supported by the USA and were the ruling government of Afghanistan until the USA wanted them to hand over the Al-Qaeda leader Bin Laden
people mix al-qaeda and taliban together far too often
people just want something to complain about all the time Quote:
"I don't see how shooting soldiers based on real Americans is entertainment while people are dying every day for this country," said Meredith, whose son, Army Lt. Ken Ballard, was killed in Iraq in 2004.
"How can they say it's OK for someone to play the Taliban? You'll have people sitting at home, drinking beer, shooting at American soldiers, maybe missing, then starting over. Well, Ken didn't have a chance to start over."
| while im sorry for her loss i dont think she realizes the games that are out there nor does she seem to be able to discern between a game and real life
this is an amusing quote Quote:
Great Britain's Secretary of State for Defence Liam Fox, who urged "Medal of Honor" retailers to "ban this tasteless product" because, he said, it allows surrogate Taliban fighters to kill surrogate British soldiers.
| EA Responded Quote:
Not true, EA countered in a bizarre response. An EA spokesman quoted in Britain's Telegraph newspaper said the game "does not allow players to kill British soldiers. British troops do not feature in the game."
| Guess Mr. Fox got told. |
