Anyone having luck with retentions lately? I'm currently at $65 a month and they're not budging  200 min+100 bonus min favorite 10 unlimited msg free after 6pm+weekends 6 gb data free caller id I told them I wanted the sask55 plan, which I had several people deny of it.. and then I told them I wanted to pay below 60 around $55, and then they gave me a piss poor plan with 500mb.. or 1gb for $65 WTF? I KNOW some people are getting the sask55/student50.... :( I will resign a contract ASAP if I get it for the Galaxy S3.... screw the Iphone.. Any hints, tips? TIA |
Bump: This the plan they gave me a few months back. Not the greatest but decent. 300 anytime minutes 6gb of Data Unlimited text/pic messaging Caller I.d/Conference Calling/Voice Mail3 Free after 6pm & weekends $55+tax no other fees. |
Well, my brother has been using telus for 10+ years for home and business! Recently he called into retentions to resign 3 years and got a super rare plan. Unlimited local calling Unlimited messaging Speech to text Voicemail Call ID 6 Gigs of Data $92/month after taxes He's pretty happy as he'll never go over his minutes and pay glove fees ever again! |
How do you "ask for more" after what's been offered to you? I spoke to retentions today and they told me they'll give me an expired promo plan: 200 mins, 6 gb data, 10 favourite #, unlimited text/mms, early evenings/weekends, caller id+vm, for $65 + tax. Very standard. I know they have better ones...do I say "try harder?" "xxx has this so and so plan?" |
$50 all in. 250mins day 6pm unlimited evenings and weekend Unlimited txting Free: caller id, voice mail, picture/video txt 1GB data (I barely past 700mb) Posted via RS Mobile |

Is this a good deal for $65 + tax per mo. 500 Local Airtime Shared Minutes (sharable between members) Unlimited Local Incoming Minutes Unlimited local in network calls (to any Telus phone) Unlimited Nights and Weekends 6PM Voicemail 10, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Conference Calling, Visual Voicemail Unlimited Canadian Text 6 GB Data (includes WiFi mobile hotspot for any device to connect to the iPhone 4S and usethe data plan wirelessly) |
I need to go into an actual Telus store and talk to someone in person, seems like every time I go into a store - the person working is just a tool and doesn't know how to help me. I went to the one at Metro and all the guy did was tell me to call customer support, dialed the number for me and handed me the phone. Does anyone have a particular contact I can go talk to? Like someone you go to all the time for all your Telus needs? I live in Vancouver near the PNE. TIA :) |
^ why not call in ? in all of these retention talks all i keep hearing is people CALLING in, as the guy at the store doesnt work for retentions. he's more of a sales person lol |
Store are only there to sign up customers and sell phones. Once you're a customer the stores are useless to you. I've got a telus retention plan and it was the simplist negotiation I've ever had to do. I've been a telus customer for 9 years and a Rogers customer for 6 so I know a thing or two about retention rate plans. Posted via RS Mobile |
I just called in and got: 500 anytime minutes 5gb data conference call, call waiting Voice mail, caller id (my10) unlimited talk and text unlimited texting pic/vid 5pm evening/weekend for $55 pre-tax |

I've been on my current plan for over a year, and I had to purchase the 8$ Caller ID add-on, as my original plan did not have it. Does anyone know if I'd be able to word my way into getting it for free as it's now on all Plans? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to getting a new/updated plan. |

Quick question about calling retentions, and just generally looking for advice on this: I'm currently in a 3yr contract which ends in May 2014. It's 55+tax for: 200 Local Mins Unlimited Text/Pic/Video Messages My 10 Favourite Numbers Call Waiting, Forwarding 1GB Data Voicemail 3 (+8$/month for Caller ID) 63+tax/month total My situation is, I'd like to upgrade my phone to the HTC One, as well as get a new contract through retentions or something, as I think I'm paying too much for what I'm actually using. However, I don't want to sign up for one of their new 2yr contracts as they're way too expensive, but paying 650$ to buy the phone outright is also a bit much... What would be the best way of going about this, phone retentions and basically say I want to cancel before my contract ends, and start negotiating stuff? |
looking over this last page of retention plans, I'm glad i'm with Rogers lol |

Im in the exact same situation except my 3 year contract ends on the 31st. Im looking to upgrade to the iphone 5s though. And the new contracts really put me off as well. |

As for me, I'm planning to switch to WIND. |
What I just got offered. $70 200 daytime minutes, Unlimited after 6pm Call ID 3gb included Unlimited text and picture msg Unlimited video call for iPhone? $55 1000 Minutes Unlimited text and picture msg Call Id 1gb Would have to pay 50% of the rest of the subsidized cost of iPhone 32gb. So 329 with new plan. 819-329=490 50%=245 So $574 |
