Get a life jacket from Tisol ~$25.00. Take your dog to a lake, jump in the water and swim with him.. You dont want to throw your dog in a pool because most likely it will not enjoy a pool(not easy to get in and out so the dog will think everytime he goes in its torture.. Teach your dog to chase sticks or balls, and slowly throw it closer to the water. After a couple days doing this your dog will love the water and you can start swimming with it. If you want to test to see if your dog can swim (which it can cause my 10yr old dog that has never swam in his 10yrs did it no problem) put the life jacket on hold him by the handle and slowly let him down in the water.. You can do this on a dock aswell and just put him down on the side. If he starts pre-paddling then he know he needs to swim... My dog loves to swim and a life jacket makes it much easier for him.

There is a pool that is setup for pooches.

They have a pool you can rent. It is best to set up a group of people to rent the pool. A group I belong to do this on occasion.

I think that you can take your dog to some lake and teach him how to swim. Its would be easy for you.
