If you don't have a preference for 'brand' name ones, I usually just go buy the ones at those engraving places.

No preference for brand names but I want to buy a decent quality one. There are dirt cheap "metal" ones on eBay but I'm sure its gonna start looking hideous after a few uses. Posted via RS Mobile |

What do you do for work?
If it's something where you need to have good relationships with customers, or meet new people in your office, get something that represents your hobbies or interests, such as a sports one, or car one etc.
Great conversation starter if you find you have something in common with the person.
I also use the ones from companies we deal with. Like TD, Envision etc. So the client can begin a relationship with the Bank before we introduce them to it.

OP:
Are you talking about something like this? If so, I bought this one at Hill's of Kerrisdale almost 4 years ago and still use it today. I took the pictures today. |

I don't recall exactly how much it cost but somewhere along the lines between $15 to $25. If I could do it all over again, I would have just purchased one on eBay. These card holders are significantly marked up at retail.
