Autobody warranty

just wondering what's the general warranty like on auto repair works? specifically regarding the paint. i got a rear ended like 6-7yrs ago and claimed thru icbc and got it repaired at an approved body shop.. but the paint job they did faded car so my car rite now have looks like 2 different color on it. would ICBC cover that? or i'm outta luck and just have to pay for a new paint job? the area affected are only the place that they fixed so it has nothing to do with the manufacturer so it's definitely the bodyshop

icbc claims through accredited icbc body shops are for LIFE...

thx. so what process do i go getting the paint job redone? obtain the records from icbc and go back to the bodyshop? or do i go to icbc and make a claim?

in the past, i have just gone to the boyshop and show them what has happened.. if it has been a long period of time, show the receipts/ records.. if you need to, get the claim number from icbc.. the body shop SHOULD have records though.. the more they hassle you, the less i would be likely to go back to them after all is fixed.

Do you park your car outside? Do you regularly maintain your paint?

I'm not saying you messed it up, but a few things to consider before having the shop paint it again. Unless something really went wrong, the paint shouldn't be fading so easily in 6-7 years.

also, is it red? red is notorious for fading.. no matter how good the paintjob is...

as for general fading... if he didnt maintain his car the whole car should technicallly "fade" as a whole and not in the rapaired spots which leads me to believe it may be clear coat failure...
