No, 10 laps in career mode is like the shortest race. Isn't it? U can go up to 20-30 laps, which is going to take an hour easily.

a couple things i've found frustrating:

1. Tire strategy is tough to figure out. How do you set it up? The only thing i've been able to figure out is before the race starts, in the paddock, obviously you can choose your tires there. But then once the race is underway, you use the d-pad to select your next tires, but fuuuuck everytime I try fiddling with the d-pad I take my eyes off the road for a second and suddenly i'm in the wall, lol. Is there a better way?

2. Instant replay doesn't seem to work for me. I can only rewind it 2 or 3 seconds back, which makes the flashback feature kind of useless. Am I doing something wrong?

this game just corrupted my save file, after putting countless retries on the freaking career races, it just makes me restart a new file.

When you start the game, you have to go through all the bullshit of starting a career, and a bunch of other bullshit, before you can even set up your options at all. Then BOOM you're in career mode with no quick race option. I spent 20 minutes before I could even do one lap. Dirt 2 was the same way. It's just really fucking annoying when all you want to do is hop into the game and play a few races to check it out.

The AI in this game are really fucking stupid. They constantly block you in qualifying, like you have to race them to get by. And they never get penalties, crash, or anything. And they seem to twitch all over the place when you're behind them. And most of the time, the backmarkers don't get blue flagged at all, so again you have to race them to get by.

This game isn't finished.

Yeah there are lots of bugs. Fortunately for me i'm not a serious gamer. I haven't even considered starting career mode. I just play the quick races whenever I need a fix. Pick a track, pick a team, and go. For that, i'm happy with it.

The biggest frustration so far was when I pitted for the first time. I went in when the engineer told me to. But every other team pitted that lap as well. And the lollipop man held me in the pitbox for 15 seconds until the other traffic passed by. I lost about 8 places. Now I just make sure I don't pit on the same lap as the others.

Hopefully codemasters is working on a patch for some of the issues raised.

Yeah i hate the fact that theres a long intro video before you even start doing anything and you cant even skip that... When i started dirt 2 it would always crash just after the the intro video which pissed me off soo much...

Tried it. Game sucks. While playing with the G25 you can either have pre-configured keys with missing options or you can customize your keys and lose the d-pad funtion on the shifter to navigate through the menus.. Game play is decent but not great. Lots of bugs thats for sure... Played a quick match in the rain & honestly the wet spots were all distorted and blurry.

Try rainning in Singarpore. That's got to be the most difficult race ever.

This game is still sold out in many places especially on PS3. Stocks are coming in this week.

^ People from the UK have a huge tendency to buy Codemasters games after hearing a lot of British accents and visiting the Codemasters forums when I played GRID actively. That, and maybe not as many copies of North American games reach Europe, combined with the fact that Codemasters is based in the UK.

I think it's because there are tons of F1 fans there, and we have all been waiting for a good F1 game for a long time. Plus this season has been really good

I bought the two PS2-era F1 games because I don't have a PS3. 20 bucks well spent.

I might rent this one to check it out.

Well of course the PC is different, if you have a video card that is less than 3 years old it will be significantly better than the console versions...

I'm not talking about just frame rates.

Sometimes the pc version of a game is completely different, or at least markedly different, from the console version. Sometimes it's the whole game, sometimes just the interface.

No, aside from having way better graphics, better frame rate, and at higher resolutions, it should be pretty much the same.. Same shitty bugs, etc.

In fact it makes me wonder how much better the game would have been had it been PC exclusive

So what's the final verdict for F1 using the wheel? Is it tight controls, or closer to GRID, which had terrible wheel support.(g25/27)

I don't know about GRID, but I find hte wheel controls to be fantastic. In fact it's pretty much the only good thing about the game right now.
