car loosing power while driving so today im driving on the highway, and all the sudden the car wont accelerate. I step on the gas pedal and it just revs the engine. I pulled over and turned off the car and waited 10 mins before trying it again. I was able to make it to work, but the same thing happened on my way home. Anyone know what the problem could be? What should i get checked out? |
what car? |
07 accord v6 |
have u replaced the timing belt recently? |
auto or stick? Stick I might think it is a slipping clutch. Auto, I'd say tranny issues. |
timing belt no. its at 76K kms ya, thinking tranny problem |
Have you had the tranny fluid changed yet? |
auto or stick? |
automatic tranny fluid should have been changed in the last few services. I take it to Honda |
Take it back to Honduh for warrenty? Sounds like your tranny is slipping which is not a good sign. Don't know if it uses the same tranny as the Oddessey but there was some issues with their auto tranny's. |
someone told me it might share the same tranny as the TL. |
tranny. typical of the V6's of those years.. regardless. take it back to honda and hope your warranty hasnt expired yet. when i worked at honda.. tons of those trannies were warrantied, and several cars come in per a week to address the slipping torque converters.. |
car didn't make it. I had to get it towed there. I was 2 blocks away lol |
shoulved gathered some RS people.. and pushed. XD |
Honda called, they said its a internal tranny issue. Wont get parts until wednesday. Covered under warranty...whew! |
ur pretty lucky then. i think theyre just gonna drop the whole tranny, exchange it with a honda reman'ed unit, then send your old one back to honda. |
haven't really seen many problems with these 07 accord v-6 trans. Problems with the Odyssey torque converters were they were causing a "juddering" or vibration while accelerating. I've replaced many of these converters. Not so much the transmission itself. the latest fix for this problem is an update for the trans ecm programing. |

Make sure you report any further issues before it runs out and don't let them put a bandaid on it, so it just barely makes it to the end of the warranty period. |
